You can get the new Ford Ranger as an extended cab or a crew cab. With the bigger crew cab option, you'll find enough seats for five along with four full-size doors. The extended cab gives you seating for four and two smaller rear half-doors. The Ford Ranger is available with a five-foot bed or a six-foot bed. Six-way tie-down cleats come standard and you can add a drop-in or spray-in bed liner along with a variety of tonneau covers and an in-bed 12-volt power outlet.
Onboard technology
A 3.5-inch infotainment display comes standard and so does a four-speaker stereo system and a Wi-Fi hotspot. You can upgrade to an 8-inch touch screen, smartphone connectivity, satellite radio and a Bang & Olufsen audio system with up to 10 speakers. Also available are features like a dual-zone automatic climate control system, remote keyless entry, push button start and remote start. A rear view camera camera comes standard and you can also add available blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
Towing and payload capacity
When it's equipped with the optional towing package, the new Ford Ranger can tow as much as 7,500 pounds. That's enough to surpass mid-size rivals like the Chevy Colorado and the Toyota Tacoma. The power delivery stays smooth and consistent throughout the towing process. In terms of payload, the new Ford Ranger can haul as much as 1,860 pounds.
Fuel economy
According to the EPA, the rear-wheel drive version of the Ford Ranger will give you up to 21 MPG on city streets and 26 MPG on highways around Newton and Sparta NJ. If you go with the four-wheel drive version, you can expect as much as 21 MPG in the city and 24 MPG on the highway.
